Managing Director, EDAROTH

Tell us about your role in EDAROTH.

I’ve been with EDAROTH from the beginning and am now Managing Director of the business, which is a subsidiary of AtkinsRéalis. It’s been my role to set up EDAROTH as a development arm to tackle the social and affordable housing crisis.

What’s your background?

Originally from an architectural background, I’ve had successful roles as Harrods Group’s Development Director, Selfridges’ Property Director and Dunnhumby’s (a Tesco subsidiary) Global Property Director, as well as managing the London Stock Exchange’s property portfolio.

My most recent role was as AtkinsRéalis’ Development Director in the Cities and Development Market team. There I was responsible for engaging with AtkinsRéalis’ public – and private-sector clients, advising on their development strategies and delivery plans.

Do you have a ‘stand-out’ moment at EDAROTH?

Establishing EDAROTH as a viable solution and competitor in the social and affordable housing market has been a big part of my role. It’s great to see this coming to fruition.

Tony Williams

Business Development Director, EDAROTH

Tell us about your role in EDAROTH.

It’s my role to lead the business in establishing and building strategic relationships with a diverse range of central and local government, private, and third-sector stakeholders and clients. My team finds and delivers solutions for their changing strategic and operational requirements in fast-moving and challenging political and economic climates.

What’s your background?

I’ve led operational business units in a wide range of services, including multidisciplinary design and FM, as well as heading up multi-service strategic outsourcing partnerships with a number of local authority clients. So it might be surprising to learn that my early career was as an officer in the Royal Engineers!

What’s been your biggest career challenge?

Working with the MoD’s Defence Procurement Agency in the 90s was a big challenge, which is just the nature of working for a high-profile public body. Incredibly rewarding though.

Do you have a ‘stand-out’ moment at EDAROTH?

It’s been fast-paced since I joined in 2019. So I’d say all of it was ‘stand out’ so far.

Richard Weeks

Technical Director, EDAROTH

Tell us about your role in EDAROTH.

As Technical Director for EDAROTH, I’m responsible for all design and technical management relating to both the development of our off-site-manufactured housing product and the delivery of individual schemes.

What’s your background?

I’m a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers. I have design and technical experience in a range of market sectors across the UK, including the residential sector.

My particular expertise is in the advancement and implementation of modern methods of construction, as well as complex over-site residential and commercial development. In fact, I had successfully delivered off-site-manufactured solutions into the residential, retail and aviation sectors before I joined EDAROTH.

What’s been your biggest career challenge?

In recent years I’ve led a technical and design practice at AtkinsRéalis that’s supported public-sector landowners to unlock thousands of homes on complex and constrained land assets. This has meant working closely with high-profile clients, including Transport for London.

Do you have a ‘stand-out’ moment at EDAROTH?

I’ve been involved in the direction and creation of EDAROTH from its inception. And I’ve genuinely enjoyed working with those who share my passion for delivering affordable, high-quality homes to people who need them.

John Judge

Operations Director, EDAROTH

Tell us about your role in EDAROTH.

I’ve been a long-standing commercial and operational advisor to AtkinsRéalis. So it’s great to now be Operations Director of EDAROTH, a subsidiary of AtkinsRéalis.

What’s your background?

Previous to EDAROTH I was in private practice for 15 years. Here I built a reputation for disciplined project direction, often in extremely challenging environments, to meet the requirements and demands of delivering social housing market at scale. Prior to that, I had a successful role as Director of the engineering consultancy Mott MacDonald, and was a Senior Manager in a number of Tier 1 contractors in the UK and Overseas Infrastructure sectors.

What’s been your biggest career challenge?

I’m not sure it’s a challenge, but working internationally in Europe, Asia, Africa and the United States has given me a wide spectrum of knowledge and experience to draw on in my current role.

Do you have a ‘stand-out’ moment at EDAROTH?

Using my industry knowledge and commercial acumen to enhance the offering of EDAROTH, so that we can help to solve the social and affordable housing crisis.

Sue Foster

Director of Marketing Communications, EDAROTH

Robert Webb

Pagabo Framework Manager, EDAROTH

Tell us about your role in EDAROTH.

My role is to help clients quickly and easily procure EDAROTH by making use of the Pagabo Developer Led Framework. This fully compliant framework allows clients to appoint EDAROTH via a direct award in as little as 10 working days.

What’s your background?

I started my career as a Chartered Building Surveyor/Project Manager overseeing multidisciplinary teams on a wide range of projects. However, I moved quite quickly into Programme Management, Key Account Management and Framework Management. These roles allow me to be predominantly client facing where I am able to assist in their strategic aims. I have completed these roles with a wide range of Local Authorities including Bracknell Forest Council and West Sussex County Council.

What’s been your biggest career challenge?

This role is the biggest challenge of my career. It’s not often your personal beliefs align with your professional role, but EDAROTH allows this to happen, helping to create as many new homes as possible maximising the impact that we in EDAROTH and Atkins can have in helping to solve the social housing crisis.

Do you have a ‘stand-out’ moment at EDAROTH?

My stand out moment will be when the first family moves into one of the homes I have helped to provide.
